Washed, seam ripped and pressed my fabric. I went ahead and cut the paper pattern that I had printed on plotting paper mostly out of laziness. I really liked how differentiated the size lines were on the pattern!

My goal for today is to choose my fabric layout and to cut out my pattern. With layout I really need to figure out where I want the placement of the various printings from the table cloth and soap sack to appear. I might also skip the table cloth if I can fit most of it into the soap sack OR I'll try out using something different for the sleeves and back yoke only. My first choice for the yoke is the cross stich embroidery, so it migth be nice to use that for the sleeves too.

Ended up getting a bit distracted yesterday after making this website, so didn't make any more progress on the shirt. Today I will actually figure out layuot and get started with cutting!

Before work I played around with layouts and took a look at all of the materials I had. I've been thinking about this shirt a bit as a muslin for a future shirt made from a rice bag, and thought that preserving a good amount of the back of the soap bag would be helpful for that future shirt, but after playing around a bit I realized that I could fit everything except for the facings for this shirt on the one soap bag and that I definitely have enough interesting materials for a second and third shirt, so I went ahead and laid everything out on the single bag to cut in the evening after work.

Pinned and cut everything out except for the collar facings. It's really hard to let go of the scraps as the fabric is so soft and substantial. I saved some larger pieces to use for applique work or mending in the future.
